Quiet Calm

I planned on writing more over the course of these last 8 months but life had other plans. As I round out the end of my pregnancy I would like to say a thank you to all the mothers I know.
I have read a lot of books this pregancny, your normal what happens when, books on VBACs, books on homebirth, books on midwives.
I selected my books in a certain order based on my mood... sometimes things work out perfectly.
I have finished what I imagine will be my last book read while pregnant as my due date is looming out there quite near.

I would like to thank Catherine Taylor for her book "Giving Birth: A Journey into the World of Mothers and Midwives". I finally read of a transformation much like my own and gained an understanding of how I got to this point. I shed quite a few tears through the women's stories, pieces here and there mimicking my own birthing experience years ago.

I'd like to just share a quote that sums up my understanding of my medical birth experience because it struck a hole straight to my heart.

"... Again, she makes no mention that it was the doctor on call who has recommended they rupture her and, thus, "commit her" to labor according to the hospital's schedule and not her body's. Both Isabella and Maureen are clients of the midwives, and yet, unbeknownst to them, their cases are now being co-managed by a doctor"

Here's to a beautiful unmanaged homebirth!!! Hoorah!
